Having once voted against higher taxes on plane tickets and for lower taxes on fuel for motor vehicles, Lisa Nandy is now very much on top of the defining threat of our age. She has said: "The climate crisis requires a radical rethink. It will require big changes and we must do it by bringing people together. We’ve seen evidence of that in towns and cities across the UK. […] I continue to get more letters about the environment from my constituents than any other single issue."

She has in her career generally voted for measures to prevent climate change and for financial incentives for low carbon emission electricity generation methods.
