Labour majority 16,015
Kate Osamor the MP for Edmonton became interested in the environment when she saw the concerns of young people and looked at the science behind climate change and since has loudly spoken the truth on the matter.
Kate seeks to ensure any regulations on the subject of climate change risk which apply to those running certain occupational pension schemes align with the aims of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 or sooner and limiting the global average temperature increase to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. She has called on the Government "to rebuild the economy so that it works in the interest of the many, not just handing out rewards to those at the top" and to bring forward "a green industrial revolution to decarbonise the economy and boost economic growth.”
Enfield Climate Action Forum has an MP Watch project as one of its many activities. Its aim is to engage our local MPs on climate change issues and create a dialogue around that with our wider local community as well as convince our MPs to take the necessary action in what is a growing emergency.
