Gillian Keegan
Conservative majority in 2019: 21,239
Gillian Keegan has been our MP since 2017. She currently holds the post of Secretary of State for Education.
On the vast majority of issues she has followed instructions from her party and voted the same way as other Conservative MPs. She is not a member of the Conservative Environment Network and has:
generally voted against measures to prevent climate change
generally voted against the preservation of environmental protections after withdrawal from the EU
consistently voted against improving biodiversity
consistently voted against improving environmental water quality
consistently voted against improving air quality

Gillian’s voting record does not reflect the climate emergency, and she does not appear to take responsibility for her own policies. She is (in)famous for her interview complaining that no-one tells her she’s doing a good job - while schools crumble and face dire circumstances due to her government’s cuts. We want to keep an eye on if she really is doing a good job, and ensure that she hears the concerns of her constituents.
We are a small, friendly group which began in March 2024. We would love to get more people involved, please come and join us!
