OUR MP

Mike Freer has decided to step down at the next election because he and his family have been threatened as a result of his political views. We find the threat of physical attack on those with whom we disagree abhorrent. The aim of this group, and all of MP Watch, is to engage constructively with those whose views we may not share. We wish Mr Freer and his family well.

Mike Freer has voted against measures to prevent climate change 27 times in the last ten years, but only 8 times in favour. His stated priorities for Finchley and Golders Green constituency are conflicting: whilst boasting about his role in enabling Barnet to become the London borough with the most EV charging points in 2024, he also campaigns ‘against Labour’s war on drivers’, being strongly opposed to ULEZ expansion, and ‘Labour’s tax by mile’ policy. He claims to be an ‘accessible MP’. We will see.
